Draft AR follow-up sequence (15 / 30 / 45 days)

Three escalating emails for an invoice that's past due.

What you need: The invoice itself — number, amount, original due date, what work it covers. The client (name + the relationship — long-term key account, one-off project, second-time-late, etc.). The contract or MSA terms if you have them — specifically the late-fee clause (typically 1.5%/month), the work-suspension right (typically 5-15 day notice), and any collection-costs reimbursement clause. The history of communications so far (any emails you've sent, any payment promises they've made). What you actually want: clear payment soonest, preserve the relationship, both, or you're already done with this client. Your jurisdiction (US state, or country) — because in NYC, California, Illinois, and New Jersey the Freelance Worker Protection Acts give you statutory teeth most US founders don't know they have.

How to use: If you've built your business profile (see "Start here") and saved it as a Claude Project / Custom GPT / Gemini Gem, open that and paste this prompt inside — the AI uses your profile context automatically and skips questions it can answer about who you are. Otherwise, paste into any fresh AI chat. The AI will interview you across 6 questions, then produce three escalating emails (Day 15 / Day 30 / Day 45) plus a one-line decision tree for the "what if they reply at Day 22" branches. Each email references the specific invoice, escalates the consequence layer (Day 15 = nudge with payment paths, Day 30 = late fee + contract clause cited, Day 45 = service pause + named escalation date), and never crosses into theatrical-threat or doormat-apology territory. Send Day 15 from your normal email; Day 30 from your normal email; Day 45 from your normal email with your attorney CC'd if you have one — sender escalation lifts payment rate 18% at the formal-notice stage.
