Insurance review (life / disability / umbrella)

What you actually need beyond what the team or job provides.

What you need: Your current coverage on five lines — life (term or whole life, face amount, premium, age you bought it), disability (group from employer, individual policy, NFLPA, or none), umbrella (face amount + attachment point on home/auto), health (employer plan, COBRA + end date, marketplace, NFLPA Continuing Vets), and any business policies on an LLC or S-corp (E&O, GL, key-person, BOP). Your gross income range (or current net worth bracket if income is lumpy), who depends on it (spouse, kids, parents, child support obligations), your age, and a one-line read on your health (any conditions an underwriter would flag — cardiovascular, neurocognitive, diabetes, smoking history). If you've already been pitched whole life or IUL by a "financial advisor" who's also selling the policy, mention that — it changes what walks from your portfolio. Skip what you don't have; the prompt will tell you what's a gap and what's a "buy this month" vs "buy this year."

How to use: If you've built your business profile (see "Start here") and saved it as a Claude Project / Custom GPT / Gemini Gem, open that and paste this prompt inside — the AI will use your income, dependents, net worth, and existing coverage from the profile and skip questions it can answer. Otherwise paste into any fresh AI chat. The AI runs you through 7-8 questions about current coverage, dependents, income, and health, then produces a one-page memo: a coverage scan of what you have, a gap analysis with specific numbers (term life at ~10x income, own-occupation disability sized to current take-home, umbrella at $1-5M depending on net worth), the underwriting reality (every birthday and every doctor's note makes the next policy harder), the policy types to WALK from (whole life as investment, IUL with capped returns and 90-120% first-year commission, captive agents who only sell one carrier), action items sequenced by month, and 5-7 verbatim questions to ask an independent broker before signing anything. The default audience is people who just lost team coverage (NFL pivots), founders without an employer plan, and creators in their first high-income year — the memo is calibrated for all three. NOT a replacement for an independent insurance broker or a fee-only fiduciary; it's the homework you do BEFORE the call so the broker can't sell you the wrong product.
